Day 208 - 24 Jan 96 - Page 12

  Q. Did you think that that was fair, that they should ask for
that, be compensated for putting in extra work on their
days off or when they were supposed to be going home?
       A. I suppose it was a reasonable request, but they were
never actually made to stay on, so, if they did not want
       to, they could go home.

  Q. What time does the shore shut?
       A. 11 p.m.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You joined in September 1991. During your
time there, it has always shut at 11.00, has it?
       A. Yes.

MR. MORRIS: What is your date of birth?
       A. 24.10.1974.

  Q. Thank you. It is in the document.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You were not quite 17 when you went there?
       A. Yes, that would be true.

MS. STEEL: If you turn to page 243, again there is the comment
about "performance reviews behind at the moment". But
then, underneath that, "Accurate reflection of performance,
pay rises are hard to obtain in some circumstances." Did
you agree with that at the time?
       A. Not personally, no.

  Q. Did you say anything about it when it was raised, say that
       you disagreed?
       A. No.

  Q. So you did not feel particularly strongly about it; you
just thought that because it did not affect you, you did
not see it as a problem?
       A. In the group of friends that I sort of worked with, it
did not seem to be a problem for them either.

  Q. There were seven people at the meeting. Was that the
general view of the meeting, the people at the meeting?
       A. I could not say I honestly remembered.

  Q. You do not remember. On the next page, page 244: "How
useful do you feel crew meetings and rap sessions
are?" "Seen as a useful way to communicate events, changes
in information." That is at crew meetings, is it not, that
that kind of information is -- that is information about
       promotional events and ---
       A. Yes.

  Q. -- things like that?
       A. Yes.

  Q. "Past rap sessions were not acted upon." Did you agree
       with that at the time?
       A. Not necessarily. I believe, if you look through them,
there are changes in individual Managers due to complaints
that had happened in the earlier ones. Problems with
equipment are always resolved reasonably quickly.
