Day 198 - 08 Dec 95 - Page 15

confirm that Andy Taylor was there although my memory says
       he was.

  Q. Your memory was much strong yesterday when I asked about
it; you were very definite that Andy Taylor was there. You
said to me something to the effect: "Well, there were lots
of people in the restaurant who would remember him being
       there"?
       A. Perhaps I was referring to Tim Taylor then. The two
names after a time is quite tricky to remember who was
       what.

  Q. Do they look alike?
       A. Not really, no.

  Q. How many times have you met Andy Taylor?
       A. Many times.

  Q. Many times. So you would be absolutely certain if somebody
as senior as that came all the way down to Colchester to
ask you to stay on, would you not?
       A. I know Tim Taylor did.

  Q. I see. The other person whose name you could not remember,
       was he called Mike Guerin?
       A. Mike Guerin -- that is it, Mike Guerin.

  Q. Thank you. Could you have a look, please -- I am sorry
about this; you need a different file for this. It is the
one which contains your PRs which I think is -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can I just be reminded again when the Husky
       actually came in?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, I think it was 1989 but I cannot give
       evidence about that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No. But the Husky came in after you became
       Manager?
       A. After, yes.

  Q. Yes.

MR. RAMPTON (To the witness): Could I ask you, please, to find
your PRs? I think they are behind your statement,
Mr. Coton, which is in volume II of the Defendants' Witness
Statements which has a pale blue back to it. It is up at
       the top, I think.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: 32.

MR. RAMPTON: Tab 32, as his Lordship says. I will ask you to
look at a page in a moment, but first of all I want to
remind you -- I will go to the page of the PRs in a moment
-- what you said in your first statement. I will read it
out so you do not have to bother looking it up. It is the
second paragraph, unnumbered. You said: "I left in August
1990. I resigned after writing a letter to Head Office
criticising management style at the Company and certain
practices I was expected to sanction or enforce". You
