MR. JUSTICE BELL: The other case I have to deal with has been
fixed for Wednesday and Thursday, 13th and 14th December.

MR. MORRIS: Right. I am just sorting myself out here. We
would like to call our witness.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which witness are you going to call first?

MR. MORRIS: Anne Casey, formally Anne Holmes.

ANNE MARIE CASEY, sworn
Examined by the Defendants

MR. MORRIS: Could you give the court your full names, please?
A. My name is Anne Casey, Anne Marie Casey.

MR. MORRIS: Could you speak up when you talk? That does not
magnify your voice.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Forget the microphone; it does not help us
hear. Speak out into the middle of the court loud and
clear, please; and do not go too fast.

THE WITNESS: OK.

MR. MORRIS: There is some water for you, as well, if you want.
Where do you live?
A. I live in Wexford, County Wexford.

Q. In Ireland?
A. In Ireland.

Q. You were involved with the March 1979 dispute at McDonald's
in Dublin, were you?
A. Yes, I was.

Q. If we just go back to a little bit of history, personal
history: when you left school, did you work as a cashier
at Woolworth's?
A. Yes. I worked there for a number of years, four years,
before taking up employment with McDonald's.

Q. Right. When you worked at McDonald's, did you start
before, in fact, the first store opened?
A. Yes, before the first store opened, they recruited
their staff; and I think we were brought in for a week or
two of training before the stores actually opened. So
I worked there from the beginning.

Q. That was Grafton Street branch?
A. That was the Grafton Street store. That was the first
store McDonald's opened up.

Q. Just to go on from when you left McDonald's, what you have
been doing since. Where did you go to first after you left
McDonald's, after in fact -- well, we will come to how you
left McDonald's -- but when you left?
