Day 160 - 21 Jul 95 - Page 07
prospect of continuing Mrs. Farrer's evidence at something
like either 2 o'clock itself or around 2.30, we will carry
on with her evidence, but if there is any real doubt about
that we will resume at 10.30 on Monday morning.

MR. MORRIS: That will be with Mrs. Farrer at 10.30 Monday
morning?

MR. RAMPTON: Probably, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If it was not Mrs. Farrer it would be
Miss Antenna.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. MORRIS: I think it should be Mrs. Farrer because she is the
witness that is current. McDonald's does have 30,000 other
employees that are happy to do whatever they are told to
do.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I do not know whether that will be convenient
to Mrs. Farrer or not, and since we brought her here today
and then promptly sent her away again, I think I should
consider her convenience to some extent. We will start at
10.30 again on Monday if we cannot resume this afternoon,
and you should be ready for it to be either the
continuation of Mrs. Farrer's cross-examination or
Miss Antenna starting her evidence-in-chief.

MR. RAMPTON: We will, of course, tell the Defendants before the
end of the day which it is to be.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Very well. Not before 2 o'clock, if at all.
Can I deal with one thing? This map ---

MR. RAMPTON: Yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- I need to know what the towns are which
are the red circles because I cannot read them on the key,
and I particularly need to know what the ones are in Mato
Grosso Do Sul and Goias.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, for that your Lordship really needs the
copy map.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: All I need is someone to tell me what they
are.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, the one just south of Brazilia to the
southwest of Brazilia is called Goiania.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you spell that?

MR. RAMPTON: G-O-I-A-N-I-A, and that is just on my 500 mile
radius. Going round the radius in a south westerly
direction, the one to the west of San Paulo is called Campo
Grande -- two words.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What, the one over Do Sul?
