Day 159 - 20 Jul 95 - Page 14

My Lord, for No. 1, that is the Bob Dunn Report, that is
being looked into. I have not got an answer for it yet.
My Lord, what we propose for all but one of the English
items is that we should give an answer or disclose the
document, or some part of it, by Monday, 7th August, at the
latest, that is to say, 14 days from next Monday. It does
not mean that quite a considerable amount of the English
material will not be disclosed before then; it may well be
that it will be. So I will offer your Lordship -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Which numbers are those, do you have them?

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, yes. They are Nos. 1 and 2 (which
Mr. Atkinson is attending to), the Operations and Training
Manual; 3, the Personnel Procedures Manual which is in hand
       through Miss Lyn Mead; the same for No. 4 and No. 5;
No. 10, there is a bit of delay on that in that Mrs. Barnes
(whose province this is) has only just come back from
holiday, but again 14 days from 24th July, we are quite
happy with. The same for No. 14, that is just to see
whether there were any minutes during the period when
Mrs. Barnes was on maternity leave, if so, whether there
was anything of relevance in them, if there are any.

My Lord, so far as England is concerned, the only one where
I ask for more than 14 days from 14th July is No. 13 which
are the enquiry agents' notes of meetings. The reason for
that is, well, first, that we are in the holiday period at
the moment and one does not know quite who one is going to
be able to get hold of at any one time; second, we are not
at all sure whether we have those notes or all of them or
some of them, that is to say, the notes relevant to the
meetings referred to in the supplemental statement.

So, my Lord, in that case I would ask for 28 days from 24th
July, or do I mean five weeks -- if I ask for 28 days that
takes me up, I think, to 21st August. They are simply for
       administrative purposes.

My Lord, the three American ones which your Lordship asked
us to deal with are 7, 9 and 12. Those have already been
passed to the Americans together with the relevant parts of
this ruling. It is in hand. Again it is a holiday period
in America. We do not know who precisely are the people
that will be dealing with it. For that reason, my Lord,
I would ask your Lordship to say that our deadline for that
material (though it may well come sooner) should be Monday,
       28th August.

My Lord, that is all I think we have to do under the terms
of that ruling. I do not know whether your Lordship would
want me to draw attention to the various typed -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. I have since perfected the judgment and
I have made some slight corrections which I noticed, but
please tell me and I will make sure they are incorporated.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, my Lord, page 4, five lines from the bottom.
They are "hide","de", not "high","gh", puller chains -- the
third word from the end of the line.
