MS. STEEL: "Also during this time Cam held a crew event which
are pretty regular. Crew events are sponsored by Cam in
which almost all of the staff get together and play
activities. At this particular crew event the theme was
Olympic bob sleighing"?
A. Excuse me, I am sorry?

Q. "At this particular crew event the theme was Olympic bob
sledging"?
A. OK.

Q. "The crew simply was supposed to go tobogganing. Then
I believe Cam decided to throw in some creative art in the
snow. He had people lie down in the snow in the form of
'no'" -- that is the letters "NO" -- "and the managers
yelled out: 'Do we need a union?' The crew obviously was
supposed to reply: 'No'." Are you aware of that?
A. Not as you describe it. I saw a video tape. It was
the Canadian broadcasting system. The union had secured a
fair amount of publicity in this campaign, my Lord. Sarah
herself was on a national television programme early on in
this proceeding, "What is my line?" kind of thing, where
you have a panel and it guesses what the person is doing.

So the union had garnered, if you will, a great deal of
publicity concerning the matter. In that particular
instance, because I saw the video tape, it was a British
broadcasting video tape of a -- it was a video tape of a
British broadcast news report, and the news -- what had
happened was the newspaper, the TV reporter had followed
the crew to their event that Sarah has described, and he
was describing what was the activity that was going on and
the setting and all that.

What I saw was crew people come up behind him, as people
try to do to get on TV, and they then fell to the snow,
(indecipherable). He said -- he did say that they just
spelled out "Vote no", but it would be very difficult for
me from that video to know what they were doing because
they were what I call hamming it up for the TV camera. But
there is a broadcast of that that maybe you ought to take a
look at.

MS. STEEL: When you heard this and saw this, did you take any
action concerning this?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Take it step by step. What you saw on the
television, was that wrong, was anything wrong, you saw, on
the television?
A. It was exclusively crew people, my Lord, and they were
acting out there, having fun.

Q. Just say -- all I want to know is whether you think ---
A. No.

Q. -- there is anything wrong in what you saw?
A. No, my Lord, I saw nothing wrong. The reporter, in my
estimation, should not have been there but he had followed
the group and -- but nothing I saw was wrong. The crew was
