       jumps from 5 to 8.

THE WITNESS: That is the answer, then.

MS. STEEL: I did not realise there were two pages missing.

MR. RAMPTON: I do not know what has happened to those pages.
We will have to find out.

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness) We will go forward to Mexico.
You were there, you said, for three weeks over several
months; that is what you said?
       A. OK. I am just trying to work it through my mind right
now. It is not an easy thing, to approximate time.

  Q. Do you remember when your first visit was?
       A. The store would have opened, I believe, in November of
1985; and, since it was a brand new country, people from my
department would have started visiting it, I would say, by
the beginning of 1985. I may have -- I probably would have
made an initial visit probably by the spring of 1985.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you mean the spring of 1986?
       A. No. I was there before.

  Q. Before it opened?
       A. Yes, my Lord.

MR. MORRIS: The ones in Mexico City, the particular store that
we are concerned about in Mexico City, where the incident
that you went into at great length (and that we have
pleaded) occurred, you say that store opened in
       November 1985?
       A. The best I can recall, I think it was November 1985,
yes. I could be off a little bit.

  Q. That was the first store in Mexico City?
       A. In Mexico City, yes.

  Q. When did the second store open in Mexico City?
       A. I am really going to start guessing; this is not even
an educated guess. I would have to assume, just to keep it
moving, I would have to assume some time in 1986.

  Q. At the time you were there, you did not know when the
second store was due to open?
       A. No. I know that we had additional sites, and I am
trying to recall if any of them were underway as far as
construction. It is just not ringing a bell.

  Q. The store that did open, was that a fairly typical store in
terms of construction, a normal building ---
       A. Oh, yes.

  Q. -- that compared to any McDonald's in the US, typical?
       A.  I thought it was a pretty good looking building;
I thought it was real nice.

  Q. Have you been to that store recently?
       A. No.
