Day 141 - 23 Jun 95 - Page 11

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, but this would, Mr. Rampton, be an
answer to any comment which Mr. Morris made, would it not?

  MR. RAMPTON: I know that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: If there is any doubt about it, I will ask
the questions, and then I suggest we just we have the
answers and you can raise comment on it if you think fit at
       the end of the day.

(To the witness) It would be physically possible for you
to ask or have asked Tower's, etcetera, if they have a copy
       of this report?
       A. It is physically possible to do that, my Lord.

  Q. If you did ask them and they did have a copy of the report,
can you think of any reason why they should not give it to
       you?
       A. I do not know, my Lord. I do not know why they would
not give it to me. I do not know what their rules are,
       my Lord.

MS. STEEL: I want to ask one final thing on this. Mr. Stein,
you are asking us to believe that, despite this being a
highly controversial matter in the Philadelphia area and a
number of community groups requesting over a period of time
to see this report, all of a sudden, when you say you
offered to let them see the full report, mysteriously, they
       were no longer interested?
       A. The only people that asked to see the full report was
Sister Marie. That was the only person that asked to see
the report. I offered it to others in the community, and
they had no interest in seeing it. The black ministers,
specifically, did not care about it, did not want to see
it, were not interested; and that is what happened.

  Q. I do not believe that is what you said yesterday, but -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You must not say that. Stick to the
questions and say that to me later on.

  MS. STEEL: OK.

MR. MORRIS: (To the witness) A general question: when people
do reports for McDonald's Corporation, are paid by the
McDonald's Corporation, they do it under contract, do they?
       A. What do you mean by "contract"?

  Q. You have an agreement with them, do you not?
       A. Usually, it would be a verbal agreement.

  Q. But it is still an agreement?
       A. Yes.

  Q. Presumably, they would have to give you full data if you
requested it? They would not be able to conceal
       information from you, would they?
       A. I do not follow what you are saying.

  Q. When someone does a report for the McDonald's Corporation,
