Day 119 - 02 May 95 - Page 08

MS. STEEL: I think, if it is any help, firstly, there is a
transcript of a lot of the programme documents, 118 in our
Defendants' original list of documents. Within that
document it says the pay levels at the store -- and it is
related to the programme because it has the people that
appear on the programme -- under 18s £1.62; over 18 is
£2.17. So far as I can tell, that would be roughly around
       1987.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What is the point you are making at the
       moment?

MS. STEEL: Mr. Rampton wanted to know roughly when the film was
       made.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I am sorry, I did not realise.

MR. MORRIS: It seems like 1987.

MR. RAMPTON: Your Lordship should also know, I believe it to be
right, although it was made for Channel 4, I do not believe
it was actually shown to the public.

MS. STEEL: Does that have any relevance to the court?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Make sure you remember -- Mr. Rampton may if
you do not -- when you call Miss Tobin you ask her when it
was filmed, apart from anything else.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, we would need to know before that if she
is coming to court. At the moment the information we have
about her is she is one of those to whom Mr. Morris spoke
sometime this year. That is all we know.

MR. MORRIS: We know anyone I spoke to is coming.

MR. RAMPTON: If she is coming, then we need to know her dates
because we shall need to deal with her.

MS. STEEL: I am quite sure, since the Plaintiffs cooperated in
the making of this film and various of their Executives
were interviewed, that they could quite easily find out,
but we will do our best.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You are still entitled to ask particulars of
what someone else is producing. So, find out as soon as
you can between what dates it was actually made, i.e. the
       filming or interviewing took place.

MR. RAMPTON: My Lord, what I need to know from the Defendants
-- it is their obligation because it is their witness --
are precise dates Miss Tobin worked at the Strand and at
Croydon, as she says she did.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Find out between what dates the filming was
done and the interviews were made and the dates which you
have just been asked for. It should not be too difficult,
and I am sure you would like to know yourselves as soon as
       possible ---
