Day 106 - 23 Mar 95 - Page 36

MR. JUSTICE BELL (To the witness): Have you seen those?
       A. I have seen those, my Lord, very recently.

MR. RAMPTON: One moves to Sun Valley and one finds at tab 8 a
variety of documents but, for Mr. North's purposes, a large
number of microbiological results -- I say a large number,
about four or five sheets -- that are relevant under the
heading "Laboratory analysis" from 1989 through but not
       continuously to 1993, I think.

Then in tab 8A there are what I have called mostly, at any
rate, the French documents showing temperatures which may
be important from Mr. North's point of view and also
laboratory analyses in tab 8B -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can we just pause a moment?

MR. RAMPTON: Those in tab 8A are documents sent to McDonald's
on a weekly and monthly basis.

MR. JUSTICE BELL (To the witness): Have you seen tab 8,
       Mr. North?
       A. I do not recall them, no.

MR. RAMPTON: I say this for Mr. North's benefit, are sent by
Cargill in France to McDonald's in England.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you seen tab 8A? No?

MR. RAMPTON: This is chicken. Then in tab 8B one finds a
variety of internal French documents, including as the last
document in that tab some microbiological tests done by the
local departmental laboratory, the local government
laboratory in that area of France.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you seen those, Mr. North?
       A. Sorry?

  Q. Tab 8B.
       A. They do not look familiar, I am afraid, my Lord, but
I can offer you that the range I have seen, I think, would
       be sufficient.

  Q. Yes.

MR. RAMPTON: I will just complete the errand, if I may?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes, let us identify what -----

MR. RAMPTON: Tab 9 is the Sun Valley microbiological standards,
their own internal document, for both raw and finished
product. At tab 10 are what we understand to be the EC
       guidelines.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Have you seen tab 9?
       A. I have seen and read.

  Q. You have seen those?
       A. Yes.
