Day 078 - 26 Jan 95 - Page 32

MR. MORRIS: No, I do not.

MR. RAMPTON: If the witness has a bad one and if your Lordship
does not mind his having one with -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have the first page.

MR. RAMPTON: Has your Lordship got a page called "UK" at the
       top?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Mr. Morris says he has several others.

MR. MORRIS: There is one which has "Sid Nicholson" at the top
       of it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I have that. How much of this do you want to
       put?

MR. MORRIS: I only want to read out one section of it.
Mr. Rampton gives evidence that Mr. Masser wrote these
letters from Barlow Lyde and Gilbert.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: What is the part you want to put?

MR. MORRIS: It says here: "Spoke to D. Walker about McKey's at
McKey's twice on the phone". It has "27/4", and it
includes also the draft of the letter to the BBC which was
dated 1st May, so it is literally between 27th April and
       1st May.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Read it out.

MR. RAMPTON: Can I hand mine up to the witness?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. Let me just have a look.

MR. RAMPTON: It is about two-thirds of the way down, my Lord.

MR. MORRIS: It is two-thirds of the way down the page.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes. You show that to Mr. Walker, please.
(Handed) Do you see the paragraph Mr. Morris referred to?
       A. Yes, I can see it, sir.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Ask your question, Mr. Morris.

MR. MORRIS: It says you hand delivered the Vesty letter and
spoke twice to him on the phone; do you remember that?
       A. No, I have no recollection of it at all. I told you
that I have got no recollection of this case.

  Q. That is all on that document, I think. On that first page
which I think you have a copy of now, is that correct, the
first handwritten paper with "UK" at the top?
       A. The handwritten one?

  Q. Yes.
       A. I have just handed it back.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, no, if you look in pink XVI?
