       evidence.

MR. MORRIS: Even the name of the document?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: That would in this case properly describe the
nature of it. I am not here ---

MR. MORRIS: I have never -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: -- to make new law to suit what you may think
are the demands of this case. I am here to administer the
law as I understand it to be. Accept my offer of a
photocopy of the relevant pages and go away and think about
it, but do not describe the document or read from it in
this court until you have persuaded me, if you can, to go
back on the ruling which I have already made.

MR. MORRIS: With respect, I still feel that the ruling applies
to prejudicing a jury and I do not believe that you could
be prejudiced by hearing details from this document which
in any case you are going to have a copy of, or did have a
copy of at one time. I cannot see any other reason for
concealing the nature of a document apart from prejudicing
       the jury.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Come back to me on it. You do not have to
take it any further with this witness. It is for the
future and future witnesses and future argument.

MR. MORRIS (To the witness): I want to come on to another
subject. Mr. Walker, you were responsible for the import,
organising the import, of Brazilian beef into the UK in
1983 and 1984, is that correct, for McDonald's use?
       A. The balance sheet beef, yes.

  Q. Five consignments?
       A. 83 tonnes, yes.

  Q. Five consignments?
       A. 83 tonnes.

  Q. You were a wholly owned subsidiary of McDonald's?
       A. In that time, yes.

  Q. So it was imported by McDonald's for their own use?
       A. Yes, it was technically, yes.

  Q. This was a special dispensation -- that may not be the
right word -- was it not? It took a number of years to
establish this right to balance sheet beef?
       A. Yes, because to get access to manufacturing beef from
the balance sheet it took a lot of negotiation.

  Q. Can we get the file out which has the -- I am not sure
which tab it was it has been put behind one of the files,
tab 5 it was, was it not, which is yellow XI, can you get
       out yellow XI?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Can you turn to divider 5 more or less in the
middle of the bundle and Mr. Morris is going to refer you
