Day 076 - 18 Jan 95 - Page 41
Q. What did he say?
A. He did not actually. He just shrugged his shoulders
and walked back in the building.

Q. You are not aware whether or not the scene you photographed
was before or after the contractor had come to pick up the
bag of rubbish?
A. I am not, no.

MR. RAMPTON: Thank you very much.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: You have been sitting at your desk writing,
I think you said, since 1986 or 1987. Is that right?
A. That is more or less right.

Q. How did you know you were seeing McDonald's patrols when
you saw them up to 1992?
A. Well, they were all in McDonald's uniform.

Q. The Council cleaners, how would you recognise them?
A. Well, they wear a sort of donkey jacket that is very
recognisable.

Q. Do they have a particular kind of barrow?
A. Yes, they have a Council barrow or a BFI barrow. One
of them is a very pretty girl, so I do notice her.

Q. Can you remind me, Mr. Rampton, when the barrow came in for
your clients?

MR. RAMPTON: Mid-94, my Lord, Summer of 1994.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do you recall seeing anyone carrying a black
dustbin liner but not wearing a McDonald's kit, ordinary
clothing of one kind or another at any stage?
A. Not carrying a black liner, I mean, no.

Q. Or some kind of bag to put environment/index.html">litter in?
A. One or two of our residents collect environment/index.html">litter.

Q. But they were people you recognise?
A. Yes.

Q. I mean a stranger?
A. Yes, no strangers.

Q. Can you remember what, if anything, those in McDonald's
uniform were using to pick up the environment/index.html">litter?
A. I thought they were doing it by hand, but they may have
had a picker-upper.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Was there anything you wanted to ask in
relation to that, Mr. Rampton?

MR. RAMPTON: No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do either of you have any re-examination?

MR. MORRIS: I thought Mr. Rampton had finished for lunch.
