Day 076 - 18 Jan 95 - Page 34

  Q. I am not absolutely sure.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: I was going to ask to be reminded that
       myself.

MR. RAMPTON: I think it is end of 1992, my Lord, or the
       beginning 1993.

MS. STEEL: I think it might be March 1993.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: 2nd March 1993.

MR. RAMPTON: Yes, my Lord. I am grateful to Ms. Steel. That
must be the right one because that is the one that was
concerned with the extension of the hours at night.

THE WITNESS: That would fit my two and a half years better.

MR. RAMPTON: (Photographs were handed to the witness). Can I
ask you before you look at them, do you think you have
       still got the negatives?
       A. Golly!

  Q. Last year they were all taken, were they not?
       A. I would have to look. I really would have to look.

  Q. We will pay for it, but it might be useful for us for the
future conduct of the case if we could have prints made.
It may be possible to make prints made from prints, is it?
       A. It is nowadays very easy. You digitize them and they
       in fact come out better.

  Q. That is what we will do and then we need not bother about
your negatives. Can I ask you to look at them? I am not
going to ask you about all of them, but I would like you to
look at numbers 1 and 2 first, please, which is outside of,
roughly speaking, outside your house in the Summer 1994,
I think you told, is that right?
       A. I just cannot remember when it was, I am afraid.

  Q. 1994 anyway, I think you told us?
       A. I said it was 1994.

  Q. Yes, you did say that. Can you look at No. 2?
       A. Yes.

  Q. You will see there are some Coca Cola cups, are there not?
       A. Yes.

  Q. There are some items of McDonald's rubbish, it is perfectly
right. There is also something like a Twix packet in the
       gutter?

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Twix is a sort of chocolate bar.
       A. I do not know Twix, I am afraid.

MR. RAMPTON: Never mind. There are some quite large splodges
       in the road as well?
       A. Yes, those look like napkins to me.
