  Q. Just to clarify, was there a second occasion?
       A. Yes, the second occasion was -----

  Q. The same, was it?
       A. Again -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: No, I want you to deal with this occasion.
You will not miss out any further occasion but it gets
confusing if we hop around. It is an attempt to help you
get your evidence out in a readily comprehensible way. Ask
Mr. McIntyre if he can help me as to date or very
approximate date even if it is only the year?
       A. Well, it is 1994.

MR. MORRIS: In the middle of the year, early year, late in the
       year?
       A. It was good weather so it could have been any time
after about April/May, I suppose, but I think it was
       summer.

MR. MORRIS: What happened at this occasion?
       A. Well, she detailed -----

  Q. What did you say to her?
       A. I said: "There is a really nasty mess in front of my
house" and she said: "Where was it?" I said: "It is in
Smith Street". She said to one of her assistants: "Go
round and pick it up" and he did.

  Q. How do you know he did?
       A. I walked back with him. I led him to the rubbish.

  Q. What did she say to you? What did she say? Do you
       remember the conversation?
       A. She was fairly uncommunicative, I would have said,
merely said to whatever it was: "Go with the gentleman and
       pick it up".

  Q. What about the second occasion; can you just explain what
       happened?
       A. The second occasion again I -----

  Q. What time was that, sorry?
       A. I am sorry, I really cannot.....

  Q. Which year?
       A. 1994. It was when things were boiling up a bit.
I just popped my head into the door and said: "Has anybody
looked at Smith Street recently?" I think she was behind
the counter, I think the same girl, but somebody else came
out and, as far as I know, went to Smith Street.

  Q. You did not go with them that time?
       A. I did not go with them. I was going the other way.

  Q. Had you ever personally contacted the store over environment/index.html">litter
       collection previous to that?
       A. No.
