     1   Q.   Right, but is that the policy statement that you were
     2        referring to?
     3        A.  That was the one I was referring to earlier.  This one
     4        is only applicable to the UK.

     6   Q.   This is the complete policy statement, is it?  There is
     7        nothing else that did not get printed in this leaflet?
     8        A.  Not to my knowledge, no.

    10   Q.   On the back it says -- well, actually it will not be back
    11        of yours.  The photocopy it is the first sheet.  It says:
    12         "The Board of directors receive reports on a regular basis
    13        regarding progress made towards specific environmental
    14        initiatives."  Is that something that Perseco does, write
    15        regular reports to the company about environmental
    16        initiatives and progress made?
    17        A.  Yes.

    19   Q.   Do you go to meetings with them or do you actually produce
    20        reports about it?
         A.  At that point in time there was something that was
    22        called an Environmental Task Force which met regularly.  At
    23        this point in time that has more or less been taken over by
    24        the European responsibility.  There is an Environmental
    25        Review Board on a European level.  That has a person
    26        responsible for McDonald's UK as well in that Review Board.

    28   Q.   How do they review the situation?  How do they get their
    29        information?
    30        A.  At various -- by meetings that are attended by Perseco,
    31        not by myself, but by another member of our company, and
    32        by, for instance, material usage reports that we do on an
    33        annual basis.

    35   Q.   The first one that you did when you came to the company?
    36        A.  Yes, exactly.

    38   Q.   So are you aware of anything similar before then?
    39        A.  Sorry?

    Q.   Are you aware of any similar report before the one that you
    42        did?
    43        A.  No, that was the first one.

    48   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  Was your position with Perseco a new one in
    49        Europe?  I realise Perseco in Europe was -----
    50        A.  No, there had been an environmental supervisor as soon 
    51        as we came over.

    53   Q.   That was Mr. Kouchoukos, was it?
    54        A.  Mr. Kouchoukos in the beginning and then for a
    55        relatively short period Mr. Elema who is also still within
    56        the company, but he only was responsible for a short while
    57        and then myself.
