methods in relation to Pentane.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. I am asking why they did not, as is the
practice in other -----

MR. JUSTICE BELL: So we know that is McDonald's case. So ask a
question on that basis; do not just ask why they did it
because we have had an answer to that question a couple of
dozen times if once, I think.

MR. MORRIS (To the witness): If you have been exporting, for
example, wraps to Eastern Europe?
A. Yes.

Q. For how many years?
A. In the last three, probably.

Q. So how come you have been continuing to accept Turkey's use
of HCFC agents, blowing agents, in their clam shells? Why
did they not get wraps ---
A. Why did they not?

Q. -- or polystyrene from other countries?
A. Why did they not import, is your question?

Q. Yes.
A. Yes, very simple. The tariffs and duties into Turkey
are such that it makes it uneconomical to import. Most of
the products used in Turkey are produced in Turkey for that
reason.

Q. So these import duties that are uneconomic to bring into
effect, what does that apply to?
A. Almost everything you import -- food packaging,
equipment.

Q. So Turkey really has to be self-sufficient?
A. Well, there was a supplier there, so it made sense to
use the supplier that was there. If there was no supplier
there, like Eastern Europe, then you would have no option
but to import; in this case there is an option.

Q. If you go to the Defendants' supplementary list of
documents?
A. Which pile?

Q. It is No. 7.
A. OK, tab number?

Q. Tab 7, this is the McDonald's Fact Book, yes.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It is the supplemental list, please,
Mr. Oakley, volume I, tab 7.

MR. MORRIS: It is tab 7 and it is the McDonald's Fact Book?
A. Right.

Q. If you go to page 26, internal page 26, in the bottom
left-hand corner, yes, it is headed "Suppliers and
Purchasing"?
