  Q. And 160 restaurants, which is about a third maybe, since
February 1991 were recycling them, so that would be ----
       A. Do we have a date when this was written?

  Q. 1993.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: It says the page before: "Environmental
activity as at 1st June 1993".
       A. OK.

MR. MORRIS: Yes. So, in your memory now, is it jogged by that,
that in February 1991 recycling by the company, sending it
back to the Sadler project, would have started in February
1991 and by 1993 a third of the restaurants were involved
       in it; is that correct?
       A. It certainly says that.

  Q. I think we can leave that now.

MS. STEEL: You have mentioned in your statement that Perseco
provides a complete purchasing service to McDonald's
worldwide with the exception of Japan and Canada. What is
the position if you cannot get a supplier in one country,
       what happens then?
       A. If I could just add that was not quite correct, my
statement; it should be Japan, Canada and Australia.

  Q. And Australia?
       A. And Australia. What is the position if we cannot?

  Q. If you cannot get a particular type of packaging or product
-- stay on packaging for the moment -- in one country,
       what is the position?
       A. If it cannot be made in that country?

  Q. Yes.
       A. The position is, if it was permitted, we would import
       the packaging.

  Q. Is that something that happens quite a lot?
       A. All over the world, I do not know. I know in my
markets, but I do not know all over the world.

  Q. Say, in Europe?
       A. I am responsible, as I said, for Northern European
markets and I am familiar with what happens there.
I cannot speak for the markets I am not responsible for.

  Q. Can you tell us what the situation is within your own
       knowledge?
       A. Within my own knowledge in the markets I am responsible
for, by and large, Perseco sources products centrally in
       Europe.

  Q. What do you mean by that?
       A. Well, you may have, depending on the product, french
fry cartons and apple pie cartons, for example, by and
large are produced in Germany and distributed to most
       European markets.
