    32         "America's tastes are changing.  Concern for diet, reduced
    33        fat and healthy foods are 'in', not only today but for the
    34        future.  People have come to us for our great food for
    35        35 years and they will continue to do so.  We have taken
    36        giant steps with changes in the content of our food."

    38        Then it says:  "As I write this, McLean Deluxe is being
    39        announced to the world.  91% fat free and 100% delicious
    40        taste.  This is what our customers want and we did it."

    42        So the McLean Deluxe is a response to people's concerns
    43        over fats and healthy food; is that correct?
    44        A.  Yes.

    46   Q.   "Giant steps have been taken," it says there.  When it
    47        says, "Concern for diet, reduced fats and healthy food are
    48        'in'", do you think he is trying to imply that that is
    49        just a fad, a trend?
    50        A.  Again, I cannot tell you, when he wrote the letter, 
    51        what specifically he meant, but I believe he certainly said 
    52        that there is more concern about it.

    54   Q.   McDonald's has often had criticism, has it not, over the
    55        nutritional content of its food?
    56        A.  Yes, we have had criticism.
