Day 031 - 05 Oct 94 - Page 30

March 1985, which I think, in fact, is page 687, the three
tables which we have as enclosure 1 to the second
statement? Then I have the Scottish Diet published in
       1993, pages 32 and 33.

Then next I come to a NATO report 1986.
Mrs. Brinley-Codd's post-it on the next document, which is
another NATO Advance Research Workshop dated 1988, has a
query on it. Is that to replace the notes on the meeting
of March 1986, which is the one I have just referred to?

MS. STEEL: I think Professor Crawford explained the
difference between the two this morning.

  MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.

MS. STEEL: It does not replace it.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: When you said 1989 this morning, did you
       mean 1988, in fact?
       A. Sorry, my Lord. I have not got the papers in front of
me. I give a paper; 1988, I think is the actual year on
       the book.

  Q. The Work Shops took place in March 1986 and June 1988?
       A. Yes, that is correct.

  Q. So when you said 1989 this morning, it should be 1988,
       should it?
       A. I had the impression it was actually the proceedings
were published in 1989, but I could be wrong.

  Q. The copyright is 1989 of a publishing company in New York?
       A. Yes.

  Q. The workshop was 1988?
       A. That is correct.

  Q. Published 1989?
       A. That is correct.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Anyway, you want 1986.

MS. STEEL: Yes. Have you a copy of the 1986 one there?
       A. I am sorry, I do not actually.

  Q. I have two copies; both have highlights on them. They
have no writing on them apart from that.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Do not worry about that, unless you have
       actually written something on it?

  MS. STEEL: No.

MR. JUSTICE BELL: Could one be handed to Professor Crawford,
       please?

MS. STEEL: 1986 NATO. (Handed) If you could read out or
draw the court's attention to the parts of that that you
particularly think are important in relation to this case?
