     3             Cross-Examined by the defendants, continued.
 
     4   MR. MORRIS:  There are some documents today to be handed in.
              The plaintiffs have the documents which I believe -- I do
     5        not know if it has been handed to you yet?
 
     6   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  I have some here.
 
     7   MR. MORRIS:  There are three from us; one from the plaintiffs.
              The plaintiffs' one is entitled Nutritional Implications
     8        of a Meatless Diet.  It was served on us this morning.
 
     9   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  I seem to have three which I think are
              possibly from you.  Cornell University.

         MR. MORRIS:  Yes, the Cornell University one is from
         Mr. Campbell, who was the co-ordinator of the China survey
              regarding breast cancer, if you remember, Mr. Wheelock
    12        referred to, and he has written a signed statement for us
              which, if it is helpful, could be considered as a Civil
    13        Evidence Act statement.  The second one was the survey
              which, you remember, came up with the grazing in Peckham.
    14        We were asked, if we were going to rely on the survey,
              that we should have the author make a statement, which has
    15        happened.  She has also included a survey of similar
              conclusions from Leeds, which she did.  What was the third
    16        one?
 
    17   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  The third one is Mr. Cummings.
 
    18   MR. MORRIS:  Yes.  You asked for a better copy.
 
    19   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  Yes, thank you very much.
 
    20   MR. JUSTICE BELL:  Where do you want me to put the first two?
 
    MR. MORRIS:  I do not know actually.  Wherever you think is
              appropriate really.

         MR. RAMPTON:  May I say two things:  The first is, if this is
    23        the subject of a Civil Evidence Act notice, well and good;
              that is the Cornell University one.

         MR. JUSTICE BELL:  I will write on the Post-it "add to
    25        defendants' Civil Evidence Act".  I will put that in under
              nutrition somewhere.  Yes.  The Peckham survey, you are 
    26        hoping to call Ms. Winter, are you? 
  
    27   MR. MORRIS:  If she is needed; if the court thinks she is
              needed. She is prepared to testify.

         MR. JUSTICE BELL:  It does not so much matter whether I think
    29        she is needed.  If you want to rely upon the survey,
              I would expect Mr. Rampton would say you ought to call
    30        her, so that she can explain how it was carried out.  We
              can see what is admissible in it, what may be
