1 as a low level, as a gas at the lower levels of the
atmosphere, was a hydrocarbon that would contribute to
2 smog; that sort of pollution.
3 Q. Does it relate in any way to the greenhouse?
A. Yes, it is identified as a greenhouse gas as a
4 hydrocarbon.
5 Q. Are there any documents on that specifically you want to
refer us to?
6 A. I would refer you to the modern plastics article.
Unfortunately I cannot put my hands on it at this point.
7
Q. I think this is one disclosed by the plaintiffs.
8 "McDonald's pull out: CFC issue hits home", is that the
one?
9 A. That is the one, yes.
10 Q. That was about CFCs?
A. If you look at it, it identifies alternatives in the
11 second page.
12 MR. RAMPTON: I do not think your Lordship has that.
13 MR. MORRIS: It is a document that was served on us by the
plaintiffs.
14
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Yes.
15
MR. MORRIS: Yesterday or last Friday.
16
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Where is the most convenient place to put
17 this?
18 MR. RAMPTON: I do not know. I have mine loose at the moment.
We will work that out.
19
MR. JUSTICE BELL: What I might suggest is that if we make a
20 separate bundle of Mr. Lipsett's publications and may be
put it in there.
21
MR. RAMPTON: I have put it with his statement at the moment.
22 A. This is the article.
23 MR. MORRIS: Show me the front page?
A. "McDonald's pull out: CFC issue hits home".
24
Q. Show me the front page. I believe you have a slightly
25 different version, although I think the words are
identical.
26 A. That may be, yes. Modern Plastics, October 1987.
27 Q. Just for confusion of the court, I have two identical but
differently laid out.
28
MR. JUSTICE BELL: Is the script the same?
29 A. I have not looked at that one.
30 MR. MORRIS: I am certain it is. If you read out the section
you want to, we will try to find it in the other?
