Horrific working and sanitary conditions

I worked for a few months at the McDonald's in Rolla, MO. The
working conditions were appalling.

Employees were treated like complete idiots. Very little training
was given to explain correct procedures. Crew members who had been
employed for a couple of weeks taught newcomers how to do their
jobs. Safety and health issues for empoyees were disregarded. The
most important thing was to get the food produced as fast as possible.

Sanitation requirements were blatantly ignored. Food that had been
dropped on the floor was served to customers. No one washed their
hands at any time before or during their shift. In fact it was
virtually impossible for anyone to wash their hands since the only
sink with a soap dispenser was consistently blocked off by bun racks
and trash recepticles. Bin times were routinely ignored and as a result
sandwiches which had been sitting for a hour or longer were served
to unknowing customers.

Wages were pitiful. Managers had little training and absolutely no
idea how to do their job and were also poorly paid. There were no
benefits and no working system for filing complaints. Harassment and
discrimination were rampant.

I finally quit because I could no longer stand the abuse.
This particular McDonald's violates so many labor and health laws
beyond the damage done to the planet by the corporation in general.
Isn't there any way to stop this atrocious rape of our society?
