They have to pay you

They must pay you, McChick. If they are demanding your attendance and it is work-related it is mandatory. One of McDonald's policies is to pay you for all hours worked, including breaks and meetings, etc.

If they don't pay you I dunno what you could do about it but it would be rather...underhanded, i would say.
