: Yes. you have a good point. You're managers can't do that..they cannot shedule you to work when your not supposed to without asking you......Since your manager does this, go to the store manager, if that don't work, go to your area supervisior, or you can just tell your manager Flint: Before you go on up the managerial line of control... TALK TO A FELLOW WORKER. When you do this, its "concerted activity" and protected by what Labor Law exists in the U.S. If you don't, they can firing you for complaining. If you say, "Me and Bob have been talking about scheduling difficulties and we'd like to see some things change." That IS protected.
:that you're going to the labour board..this gets them scared cause it can hurt their career.
The Labor board won't do shit about changes in scheduling. As long as your getting overtime if your working over 40 hours a week, they won't intervene. Its not an unfair labor practice to jerk you around on a swing shift of anything. Its not an unfair labor practice not to make room your school schedule. It sucks, its not right... but it isn't against the law.
The only way to really change any of this crap is to organize.
Don't I sound like a broken record.
Solid,
Flint
