No, I didn't say that there was a walk out this weekend in Macedonia, I was referring to the walk out that already happened over the Easter Weekend. If that is how it came across in my post then I regret that error.
I USED TO SUPPORT THESE GUYS BUT NOW THEY ARE ACTING LIKE IDIOTS. AND WHAT THE HELL IS THE IWW ? I USED TO CONSIDER MYSELF WELL READ AND EDUCATED, BUT AFTER READING THEIR WEB PAGE I AM THOUGHRLY CONFUSED ABOUT THEIR INTENT AND PURPOSE. ARE THEY PROTRAYING THEMSELVES AS A LEGITIMATE UNION ? WHICH THEY ARE NOT.
The IWW is a rank and file controlled, democratic union that has existed since it was organized in Chicago, 1905. Check your labor history if you want to see what we have accomplished. We are all over any legitimate labor history book that you will find. And as for being a legitimate union - you can start a self-styled "Macedonia Worker's Union" today and it would be a "legitimate" union. All a union is is an association of workers united for a common purpose, which we have been for nearly a century.
HOW CAN EVERYONE BE EQUAL WHEN THAT HAS NEVER HAPPENED SINCE THE BEGINNING OF TIME. SOMEONE HAS TO LEAD.
Please refer to the Paris Commune of 1871, the Spanish Revolution of 1936, The Krondstadt rebellion against the communists in Russia, the many Indian nations of the United States that were egalitarian, as well the many other examples of workers standing up and taking control of the industries that they work in. That is what we advocate as a long term solution. And there are MANY historical precedents for this! In the short term, we are interested in practical, democratic unionism with very low dues. And before you try to red bait us, we have been fighting communist control of unions since we first organized nearly one hundred years ago!
WE WERE HAPPY WHEN THE TEAMSTERS WERE LEADING US, BUT BRYAN AND JAMAL (ALIAS, FRICK & FRACK) FUCKED THAT UP. NOW THEY ARE TURNING TO THE IWW WHOEVER THEY MAYBE--WHAT NEXT THE WWF AT LEAST THAT FARCE IS ENTERTAINING.
Why do you need someone to lead you? Lead yourselves! A union is not some "other" group it is the workers themselves. And no Bryan and Jamal are not turning to the IWW, we offered to do a solidarity action with them.
THE BEST THING THAT COULD HAPPEN RIGHT NOW IS FOR FRICK & FRACK AND THE IWW TO
: GET A LIFE AND LEAVE THE EMPLOYEES AT MACEDONIA TO ORGANIZE FOR THEMSELVES. WE DON'T NEED OR WANT YOUR HELP !
If that is true, that you don't want solidarity from your fellow workers then I will let everyone know. But since you didn't leave your name, (which is understandable if you don't want to get fired and are actually a worker there) please tell Bryan who you are by emailing him at bry153@aol.com, and I will contact him. If he says that this is true and that you are not just some McDonald's industry hack trying to confuse the issue by speaking anonymously, then and only then, will we stop our solidarity work with the McDonald's workers. By the way, this weekend in Atlanta is the McDonald's manager's convention. We will be out there picketing that in support of McDonald's workers everywhere (NOT just in Macedonia) and their right to organize a union without getting fired.
