: But it is sad to think that some stores cheat their employees and customers. You must work on a non-corporate license held Mc. It is true that Mc tends to bend the rules with paying salaries. My Mc is open 24 hours a day, there are 3 workers and no shift manager there on the nights. The doors must be locked at all times (unless a fire breaks out). So there is no way we could go eat somewhere else, right? Still our assistant restaurant manager was trying to make us punch out for a meal (15 min in an 8 hour shift!!!!) and to make us pay for the food we ate!! According to the local laws "if an employee can not leave the premises for a break the meals must be free and the break must be paid".And also "in a over 6.5 hours shift the lunchbrake is 30 minutes minimum". Still we had to read the law, and nag and fight for 3 months to get things legal there... Thats McHonesty for you!
