: I got a dose of food poisoning after I ate at Capt. D`s, threw up all night, may,23,1998 They put all this dough on thier fish, you couldn`t tell if the fish was bad or not, won`t be eating thier againI can see how the fish could give food poisoning if it weren't handled properly by the crew. The Filet-O-Fish is McDonald's worst selling sandwich (and should probably be cancelled, if you ask me). Most of them end up staying in the warming bin for their full 35 minutes or whatever and then get thrown out. But if the kitchen isn't following procedures, that little square hunk of fish could sit there for ever! Even more likely, the Filet Sauce is the culprit. At our restaurant, a single gun probably lasts two or three days (since we only make about 25 of them a day, compared to several dozen Big Macs an hour). If it sits out all day for 3 days (it's in a fridge at night), it stands the biggest chance of contamination in the restaurant.
