ALL UNIONS ARE NOT BAD! PROTECTION OF THE WORKERS IS JOB#1. NOT ONLY SAFETY BUT INFORMATION ON THINGS YOUR MANAGER DOESN'T EVEN KNOW. GOVERNMENT REGULATES LABOUR CONCERNS AND SOME OF THESE LAWS MAY NOT BE OBSERVED BY YOUR MANAGERS. WHY? BECAUSE THEY DO NOT KNOW! THE PEOPLE THAT OWN THESE RESTAURANTS ARE MAKING MONEY. DON'T LET THEM FOOL YOU IF THEY SAY THEY WILL CLOSE THE DOORS IF YOU UNIONIZE. THIS WILL MEAN THAT THEY MAY NOT MAKE AS MUCH BUT YOU WILL BE TRAINED TO BE MORE SAFE IN THE WORKPLACE, YOU WILL KNOW YOUR RIGHTS AS FAR AS HOURS OF WORK AND OVERTIME, SEXUAL HARRASSMENT IS A PROBLEM IN THIS TYPE OF ENVIRONMENT-YOU WILL BE TAUGHT THAT YOU HAVE A RIGHT TO EMPLOYMENT AND YOUR SUPERVISORS DO NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO TOUCH YOU IN ANY MANNER WITHOUT RAMIFICATIONS!!! YOU ARE YOUNG PEOPLE WHO CHANGE YOUR VIEWS EVERYDAY, WHO CARES IF THE OWNER CANNOT AFFORD THAT OTHER BMW FOR HIS WIFE, HE HAS THE SAME ATTITUDE AS ME, CHARITY BEGINS AT HOME. TAKE CARE OF YOURSELVES, IF IT GOES INTO THE RED MAYBE THE OWNER WILL HAVE TO WORK AT IT (LIKE YOU GUYS DO). I GO TO MCDONALDS AND YOU GUYS ARE RUNNING AROUND, BUT THE OWNER IS AT HOME TALKING TO HIS FINANCIAL ADVISOR. UNIONS PROVIDE INFORMATION AND THEY DON'T PUT UP WITH BULLSHIT LIKE CONFRONTING EMPLOYEES IN PUBLIC, UNSAFE PRACTICES, SEXUAL HARRASSMENT/ASSAULT (A MCDONALDS MANAGER/OWNER FED MY WIFE ALCOHOL AT A STAFF PARTY WHEN SHE WAS 14 AND TRIED TO BED HER AFTER EVERYONE LEFT). SHE GOT AWAY BUT HOW MANY GAVE INTO THE THREAT THAT THEY WOULD BE FIRED IF THEY DIDN'T? MY WIFE WAS FIRED A WEEK LATER!
