Just a quick comment if I may. Isn't one of the ingredients of jello dirived from horses hooves? And while on the subject of MAD COW DISEASE, I just learned (2/5/99) that there have been 11 cases of MAD Cow DISEASE in a 60 mile radius of my home town. (none of which have been made public) The question (to myself) is why the public has not been notified? So much for the subjeck of Jello.--
McSpotlight: There are several good reasons for not publicizing an outbreak of mad cow disease (a.k.a. bovine spongiform encephalopathy or BSE). Most of them have something to do with money and the meat industry.
(This might be thought of as somewhat irresponsible, considering the fact that the USA is the world's largest consumer of beef and the fact that new-variant Creutzfeld-Jakob disease (nv-CJD) has been linked to BSE-infected cattle in the UK. But hey, the profits are still good.)
