: I agree with the person who wrote in about how stupid Breakfast Mates are. Are Americans really that lazy that we can't get a box of Ceral, a spoon and make the Cereal our Selves.

....It seems Kellogg wants to sell these things based on their convenience, particularily with young children. Maybe your kids are to young and uncoordinated to pour milk from a large gallon sized jug. But if this is the case, it would be so simple to transfer some of the milk into a smaller pitcher, and place it on a lower shelf in the refrigerator.

Next, the milk isn't packaged in the cardboard cartons you were probably given at school, unless you're old enough to remember milk packaged in glass bottles. Rather, Kellogg puts the milk in those rectangular drink boxes which are normally used for fruit juice type beverages. Recall, these drinks are usually consumed from the box with a straw. If you want to pour the contents into another container, it becomes necessary to pull up one of the corners, then cut it off with scissors. Now, if your children can't be trusted with gallons of milk, are you willing to trust them with scissors sharp enough to cut open the box of milk?

I have seen Breakfast M(asturb)ates sold in stores, ranging in price from $1.00 to $1.40 . At these prices, if you want a bowl of cereal, you are better off at McDonald's.
