In reply to Thinker, let me just say that if you go into a casino you may lose all your money, but you have a right to expect that it is being operated honestly.In the case of Lloyds, they recruited many people, when those on the inside knew that they were facing huge asbstosis claims in the near future. They then passed responsibility for those claims to the new boys, and managed to save their own necks.
In the Stock Exchang, for example, this would be classed as insider dealing, which is a criminal offence in many countries. Unfortunately Lloyds appears to be able to avoid outside regulation, which means it is left to the foxes to guard the chickens.
Onetime Deputy Chairman of Lloyds, Mr Robert Hiscox stated " If God had not meant them (the Names) to be sheared, he would not have made them sheep." !!!
