BUDAPEST, Hungary (AP) -- Police seized a box of radioactive material found outside a McDonald's and detained four men who were inside the restaurant, they said Saturday.
It was unclear what kind of material it was or how much of it the package contained.
Acting on an anonymous telephone tip, police in Debrecen, 125 miles east of Budapest, seized a black plastic box leaning against the wall of the restaurant Friday and arrested the four men.
The men were being held on suspicion of trafficking in radioactive materials, Debrecen police spokesman Sandor Boni said.
Investigators had not determined where the material came from.
The package was taken to the Nuclear Research Institute of the Hungarian Academy of Sciences in Debrecen.
