I too worked for HJs for sometime whilst i was a student - 9 years infact - during which time i spent 5 years as a casual manager-typically on the midnight till dawn shift. Not unlike yourself i was fortunate enough to realise that my job at HJs was a temporary means to an end before making the transition into my engineering career. In my extensive time with HJs i had the pleasure of working with some very fine managers who i had learnt a great deal from in terms of effectively managing people. On the flipside i also witnessed and was a victim of mangers who dealt in abuse, lies and victimization. Fortunately for me i always saw the bigger picture for my life and took it as water of a ducks back, however there are hard working people who aren't as fortunate as you or i to have a university qualification to look forward to and victimization from these managers can make work a complete misery. No one deserves to be treated in such a way, and although some of the postings to this list are not particulary well articulated - they are all from people who have a large enough concern to have it published on this list.
