The other aspects of this post have already been very well dealt with. I would just like to comment on the following:: Find something better to do than waste this band-width space!
The 'net is useful for information exchange. You may consider anything that you are not personally interested in to be a waste of bandwidth, but to thin the 'net down to only what you want to see would not be a good move. I'm sure you can work out why.
And why not concentrate on the real waste of bandwidth?- Advertising. Notice the banners that get splashed across your screen every time you enter a commercial site? They are the biggest waste of space, because they are not only big, but people don't want them.
