: Also - call me naive you wouldn't be the first - McDonalds don't and can't force any "developing" nations to sell them cash crops (for whatever reason this is bad), so the responsiblity for the ills that this causes lies with the government of those countries, rather than with McDonalds, surely.I will have to agree with you. However we should consider three parties in this issue, McD, Third world countries and the ignorant consumers. Call them ill-informed of what they are feeding their kids with, but I don't believe majority of those queing up in McD are unaware of the fact that Macs are junk food and unhealthy.
If we were to trace who's responsibilities is causing all the problems in health and environmental issues, it all go round in circles.
ALL are involved and no one can hide away from the responsibility.
McD is wrong definitely for cheathing their consumers big time that their food is "nutritious"
The government is responsible to allow McD to cut down their forest to raise cattle. Even with the fact that the ranch is killing indigenous people in the rain forest, the govt close an eye and let the money flow into their economy.
McD's consumers are all guilty of being ignorant of what is happening around the world. Believe me, most of them not only know that the food is harmful to themselves and their kids, quite a number of people also know that these burgers are stainted with innocent blood that flow in Amazon River.
Clearly the issue is no longer about freedom of speech, it is about the moral values of the human race is crumbling and nobody cares.
Well, at least me and you guys who read this still care. So there is still hope for this world ain't it?
what we can do may be little but any effort made is worth it.
