: Following the USA Today link in the last post, I had to laugh when I read the italicized summation at the top of the page. It reads that McDonald's was awarded only $98 in damages. Now, THAT would have been SWEET! The complete article below indicates the damages awarded were $98,000. That's unfortunate, but you can't get blood from a turnip. Which is it?

I don't know if that's our mistake or USA Today's, but the correct amount is, or rather was, $98,000 (in fact it's £60,000, I don't know if the conversion rate has changed since June 97), but it's all pretty academic since McDonald's are not going to get a penny........
