McSpotlight: Do you have a local Citizen's Advice Bureau (C.A.B.)? Speaking personally, I have no working knowledge of U.S. law in this sphere, nor do I have any of the facts of the matter. If you feel that you've been treated wrongly, somewhere like a C.A.B. will give you legal advice. In the UK, you are also allowed to write to your local M.P. (Member of Parliament) - I assume you can do similar things in the U.S.
But what reasons were given for the appeal being turned down? If it was a technicality, you might stand a chance, but if it's a fundamental point of law, your chances are much slimmer. Your local White Pages should list suitable advisory groups in your local area.
There are also various unions that will take up the cause on "worker's rights" - the Teamsters or the IWW being two notable examples.
Green groups also have contacts and experience dealing with suchlike events.
Those are a couple of points, anyway. It's not that we don't care, it's that there's not a huge amount we can do apart from wishing you luck.
