: ~ Hope Frank comes back and sees what people think of him & his opinions.Sure. What do you expect me to say? It was mind-numbingly predictable
with everything except the kitchen sink thrown at me. We had
'scientific evidence' we had 'web site hits' and numerous other
pseudo 'eco-warrior' nonsense about the environment.
Bottom line is that this is a non-issue. It's somewhat ironic that
one of the points they actually won was that McDonalds workers are
low paid, when Steel and Morris (and a few around here) have a mission
aim of closing the place down entirely and throwing those 'low paid'
Mcdonalds workers onto the dole! Most of the rationale for this
campaign, rain-forest, packaging, working conditions etc is just an
attempt to raise issues that are of public concern in an attempt
to give this 'food-fascism' campaign respectability.
On a scale of world issues, it is a big fat zero, you all busy
yourselves pretending to slay the corporate giant, slapping yourself
on the back in a self-congratulatory manner, while those who
do kill children such as Nestle go on unmolested. Had the effort that
has been expended on this non-issue been directed at Nestle, you might
have achieved something. Instead all we have is this trivial nonsense.
It's rather amusing that Nestle get a lame single page comment on
this site which doesn't even look at the issue in any detail and
appears to be more interested in the fact that a bunch of animal rights
fanatics at PETA, who'd deny children medical benefits because life
saving medicines such as various vaccines used in 3rd world countries
and insulin are animal derived, disapprove of a cosmetic company
they own. You don't even appear to be aware of what the problem is
with infant formula milk in the 3rd World and blabber on about
how nasty it is for Nestle to advertise to mothers and missing
health warnings from packaging!
I would suggest you need to get your priorities sorted out, Ronald
McDonald or over 10,000 dead children in the 3rd World each year?
