What do you want - a 313-day re-enactment?
Isn't it more important to affect people than to go into every little detail? If the programme had gone any deeper I think even more people would have found it too impenetrable and switched off. This way, you get enough of the issue for most people to be happy.
Surely it's a play off between accessibility to the most number of people and the excrutiatingly in-depth material you obviously lap up.
Get down the library you. Or to McSpotlight, of course.
