HelloI was directed to your WWW site, after reading about it in the March 17,
1996 San Jose Mercury News. I live in San Jose, California. You bring up several important issues concerning how McDonalds uses
deceptive and manipulative advertising. However, I do feel you go too far
to plant at the feet of McDonalds all the world's problems. One could also
make a very convincing argument that the internal combustion engine is
responsible for the imminent destruction of this planet. What I really think you have a problem with is the fact that some people
eat animal flesh. Isn't this a diversion from the intended target,
McDonalds?I haven't eaten in a McDonalds in over 15 years. I find their food to be
unhealthy, unbalanced, over-processed, and expensive. This doesn't mean I
have given up meat, and beef specifically. So you see, I think it's
possible to be against McDonalds, but also be a meat eater.I think it's important to educate people on the origins of their food
sources, and the environmental impacts that occur to produce certain foods.
The same should be said for any product one purchases. People should also
be aware of the quality and nutritional value of the food they consume.
Once people are armed with the facts, then they can make a decision on
where they want to dine.I would hope that in the future, Steel and Morris would be more objective in
their arguments.
