- McDonald's -Vegetarian doctors mopping up the floor with meat advocates
As I write this, "The Great Nutrition Debate" is taking place in the U.S. Department of Agriculture. Doctors who advocate a vegetarian diet, such as John McDougall and Dean Ornish, are mopping up the floor with pro-meat doctors like Robert Atkins and Barry Sears. Among the funnier exhibits was a picture of 1st and 2nd generation Japanese-Americans, who ate a traditional Japanese diet high in carbohydrates and low in meat and dairy: they looked fit and trim. A picture of 3rd and 4th generation Japanese Americnas, who had adopted the meat and cheese diet of Americans, showed a bunch of fat people. None.
