Who are 'they'? McDonalds is a public company, which means it is owned by millions of shareholders on different exchanges around the world. There is no small group of people that could just have a giant garage sale and walk away with billions. Also, if a corporation is successful enough to make all that money, what is the point of discontinuing its operation?
BTW, they don't exploit consumers or workers.
