Paranoid - relax man, you sound so wound up. All businesses stretch the truth when advertising. Record stores, Electronic stores, clothing stores, fast food restaurants......they all do it. It's not just McD's. Since you have so much time on your hands, why don't you phone Future Shop and find out where my $20 rebate cheque is. They were advertising it when I bought some software.....oh ya, only McD's false advertises.
