: The potential demolition of a historic house to make way for a McDonald's outlet became an issue in a state tribunal yesterday.
: residents of inner suburban Coburg in Melbourne, who confronted the fast food giant at the Victorian Civil and administrative tribunal, want to halt McDonald's plans to demolish one of the few Victorian-era houses left in the area.
: The tribunal heard that a black ban by unions had stopped work at the site and McDonald's was seeking an extension to its permit, which will expire on April 17 if work has not begun on the North suburban site.
: Protesters last month brought to a halt the demolition of the historic home.
: Tribunal senior member Russell Byard dismissed the submission. The case is continuing.............
BRAVO Melbourne! They must back out completely and publicly before you can believe they gave up. Until then, they will continue to PAY top dollar to their advocates to find a loophole.
