I guess I jumped the gun on this one.

: I just asked for more information. I'm not condoning or defending the actions of the crew. In fact, if they were mine, I'd have to slap them around a bit. You also have to look at it from the crew and manager's point of view. I'm only playing devil's advocate here, so don't get the wrong idea. Was the girl being obnoxious? Was the mother rude to the manager? Why must everything be racially motivated? You both seem to assume that the manager and crew are racist. I'm just asking for more details. Don't assume that I'm a bad manager just because of that one post, Mike. My name is meant as joke, so don't take me to seriously. I usually really like what you post.

My apologies, Joey. I should have reread that before I reacted. I usually like what you post,
also. Hopefully the author of the parent post will expand a bit on the situation. I understand
it's not uncommon to talk shop among your fellow employees, including the occasional hostile
customer that crosses your path. But I do maintain this should not be done within earshot of
other customers, being as some of them may think that nobody's business is appreciated. And
of course you shouldn't talk about a certain customer or customers while he/she/they is/are
present. I remember one time at Albertson's that a couple of baggers were bitching about how
nobody tips anymore, and those that do don't tip enough (Albertson's has a no-tipping policy.).
I almost responded in a smart-ass manner, but they got out of my range before I could say
anything.

I'm going on again, but before I close, some customers do show their dissatisfaction with
product/service/treatment by staff in a verbally combative way. I do understand that there
are even limits to "The customer is always right", and that profane language or loud, disruptive
conduct should not be tolerated. However, not all customers that clearly show that they are
pissed off over something are jerks. Many of them do have a valid point. Of course I'm sure
you are aware of that.

One more thing: Why do you want to save the Arch Deluxe? I'm sure the rumored "McWhopper"
replacement will do circles around it.
