Wake up Louise. Yes there are some men and women who fall into the categories you are using...but the majority dont. Most men who live seperated from their children, do so out of choice/breakdown in relationship. That is fine. What isnt fine is that they are making a free choice NOT to contribute to the upbringing of their children, be it financially or otherwise. THEY SHOULD NOT HAVE THE RIGHT TO MAKE THAT CHOICE. The people who lose out whilst parents are bickering over who does what are the kids. People need to grow up before they have kids, not use them are a weapon to get to each other. If you create, you should participate in the upbrining of that child. For men who want to have a physical presence in the rearing of their offspring, the time to do so is WHEN THE CHILD IS BORN, not when they realise that to do so is a good way to get at your ex. For everyone looking after children, Grow Up. None.
