It is evident that many, many, kids find school a "bore". As usual, many, many adults blame the kids for this attitude - usually followed by, "In MY day...(etcetera)".

All I know is that there are Some classes taught by Some teachers, that None of the kids find boring. So it's possible that the problem is not so much with the kids as it is with the particular educational environment in which they find themselves.
