The alternatives to school

Children can learn without school. For example, most children have little difficulty learning their native language as little more than infants. Children can socialize without school. So what exactly is the point of school?

Children should be allowed to be responsible for their own education without adults telling them explicitly what they need to learn. Libraries, for example, are a much better educational resource than any school. There is plenty of information about homeschooling or unschooling on the web if you are interested.
