: the food makes me sick but my boyfriend works there so dont make fun of people that work there. ok?! Dear Heather, not knowing anything about your boyfriend I cannot poke fun at him in particular. However, people who work at McDonald's restaurants can be divided into a few different groups.
This is not an exhaustive list of course:
Those who work because they *need* the money for such things as their education or survival.
Those who work because the want spending money to throw away on all sorts of frivolous luxuries.
Some people feel that people in the second category are fools and simpletons. I prefer to think of them as victims of our excessive "gottahavit" culture.
The other reasons for making fun of employees there are the quality of service(as you noted yourself) and the various anti-social corporate activities of McDonalds Corp.
If your boyfriend is in the first category, he has my sympathy, otherwise I hope he will seek a cure for his malady.
